I have very fond memories of growing up in the same house as my grandparents. Sometimes it takes a wedge of time to help you really focus on how special those experiences were. My grandmother still comes to me in my dreams on occasion, often with a warning and a worried frown. She taught me so much and loved me so deeply it would be impossible to ever fully remove her from my daily subconscious.
She had drawers and boxes full exquisite hand made linens, many she made herself and some were imported from Italy. They were precious to her and she preserved them in plastic and crisp folds. Sadly most were never used. You see, they were saved for special occasions or were simply just too precious to use. I really think she would've liked to use them. Maybe time just ran out for her. So, I'll take that as a small life lesson from my grandma, use your stuff before time runs out.
I was recently hanging with my good friends Matthew & George and we thought it would be a good time to pull out my Polaroid cameras and play. Thanks to my friend Jim Z we had some (precious) expired film to use up and away we went! No looking back.
