Día de los Muertos - Holding on.

Today I'm remembering the dead. Today I celebrate Día de los Muertos, the Mexican practice of remembering and honoring friends and family that have passed away. Some may find it morbid but I find it the sweetest custom and a beautiful way to resurrect people in your thoughts. Even if it's just for the day or a moment. And I believe when congregating and remembering en masse a fine incense of remembrance is lifted to the heavens. But ultimately the day is for us, not them. It's a way for us to hold on.

This year I'm not able to go to Cleveland's Dead of the Dead celebration so I thought I'd post some pictures from a previous year. You know, so we can remember.

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

Remembering grandparents, uncles, friends... Peace.
